Tropea Velo

This sporty cycling route around Tropea offers everything a cyclist's heart desires: sea views, challenging climbs, and rapid descents. It starts right on the coast before heading into the Calabrian hinterland.

A constant up and down awaits you over approximately 40 kilometers , with an elevation gain of around 800 meters – from sea level to over 627 meters . The route mostly runs along quiet roads. The asphalt is sometimes perfect, sometimes Italian-style bumpy, and caution is advised, especially on the descents. You'll sometimes have to search for the line that's just barely passable.

The terrain alternates between paved mountain passes and winding country roads. The reward for the effort? Breathtaking views, secluded roads, and, to finish, an Aperol Spritz in one of the local bars.
